Alex Akuete

The website for Alex Akuete, a creative director, visual artist, and performer who collaborates closely with the MoMu Fashion Museum in Antwerp, functions as both a portfolio and a structural framework. As the founder of several community-based projects, Alex’s work called for an identity that feels both institutional and personal. This led to the creation a logo built from his initials, AA, that evokes the idea of “the house of Alex Akuete.” From this starting point, the visual language unfolds through a sleek grayscale palette and elongated rectangular forms echoed across the web design and typography. A key feature of the website is a zoom in and out interaction used across multiple pages. This mechanism functions both as navigation and as a curatorial tool, allowing visitors to move between detailed views and a broader overview of the different projects. Development by Kevin Brenkman.
